WORLD MALARIA DAY CELEBRATION AT KOLASIB
A programme on District Vector Borne Diseases Control was celebrated at St.Joseph’s Parish hall Kolasib. The theme ‘Zero Malaria Starts With Me’ was used in this World Malaria Day Celebration.The Chief Medical Officer Dr.Lalhlimpuia Sailo had said that Kolasib District had done a wonderful job with regards to cleanliness, which, in turn help the people from contact of several deseases including malaria. He added that every one is responsible to eradicate malaria by cleaning their neighbourhood.
The Senior Medical Officer Dr.RK Lalthlamuana had made a report about the activities taken by Kolasib District to eradicate malaria. In the year 2016 out of 29,445 blood tested only 230 patient were found positive, by the year 2017 out of 18,886 tested only 116 were found positive, by the year 2018 out of 15,154 tested 36 were found positive. As per the Annual parasitic Incidence (API) it was 2.6 by the year 2016 while by the year 2018 it was reduced to 0.4. During the last two year, no decease is recorded due to malaria in the district.
